EXOTIC SPECIES PLANTATIONS

Brazil is one of the world’s most advanced and competitive countries in terms of exotic species silviculture. Over 40 years, it has developed technologies to create plantations based on the use of the best socio-environmental practices, using FSC certification criteria as a parameter. The planting of species such as eucalyptus and pines has applications in market segments such as pulp, steelmaking and foods, as well as biomass to generate energy.

AMATA believes in creating a forestry portfolio with a wide spectrum of species and applications, taking advantage of knowledge synergies among the different types of silviculture activities, including coexistence with stakeholders in these activities and the synergy of products, such as engineered floors and furniture, among others.

This concept is dealt with by AMATA through the definition of the forest continuum, one of the company’s underpinnings, which can be found in the AMATA Introduction and the documents available here.
